Microsoft SQL Server 2016 finally gets a release date
"SQL Server 2016 owns the top TPC-E performance benchmarks for transaction processing, the top TPC-H performance benchmarks for data warehousing, and the top performance benchmarks with leading business applications like PROS and KPMG", said Microsoft. The new edition also offers end-to-end mobile business intelligence on any device, in-database advanced analytics and in-memory capabilities optimized for all workloads, the company said.
The software giant is pitching SQL Server 2016 as a step up in capabilities over previous releases of the platform.

The latest version of Microsoft's SQL Server 2016 database management software will be generally available on 1 June.
